Purveyors of trebley riffs, tube driven Hammond organs and the odd sleazy solo; Turrentine Jones are causing a stir for their gritty, bluesy sound and floating-voiced frontman Julian Neville. “It’s vintage sleaze. It’s honest and raw with swirling organ parts, rapid fire percussion and rousing harmonies” – Q Magazine.
Influenced by the likes of the The Animals, and a classic groove reminiscent of Booker T. & the M.G.’s at their best – Turrentine Jones weave their way through pulsing riffs and Hammond-driven sounds that saturate the flavour palette. Their début single, ‘Slam the Door‘, which has already been performed for Channel 4′s TV series Hit the road Jack, is an authentic stomper painted with an emphatic vocal that has drawn comparisons to the likes of Mick Jagger and Eric Burdon.
