Text Voting
For any musician looking to build a successful career, fan interaction is a vital element in achieving this.
Here at Exposure Music Awards we encourage all of our nominated artists to interact with their fans and participate in text voting. Yes, it does also bring in some revenue for us (around 50p per vote). We use this income to help keep the registration fee and ticket prices as low as possible.
For 2012 there will be two categories where fan text voting will be judged.
“Best Live fan vote”. The artists chosen to compete for the title of “Exposure Music Awards Best Live 2012”, by performing at the grand final in October, will be invited to participate in fan text voting. Each artist will be given their own unique number for fans to use when voting. Best Live fan vote will be its own category and the winner announced at the grand final. Text voting will be open in early August and close on the awards night itself, after all live artists have performed. This is an additional category to the judged event on the day of the grand finals, when all performers in the Best Live category will be judged on their performance on the day by our panel of industry experts.
“Fan vote for best Nominees”. This is the only chance for Nominees to play at the grand final if they haven’t entered the Best Live category. Nominees will be announced at the start of August and our industry judges will get down to the serious business of choosing the winners of various music categories. While this process is underway all Nominated Artists will be given the chance to enter into fan text voting, with the three winning artists being invited to play at the grand final in October. Each nominee will be given their own unique number for fans to use when voting. Text voting will commence in early August and close in mid September giving winners around four weeks to prepare for their performance at the awards. Please note that artists chosen to play at the grand final through the best nominee vote, will not be part of the best live judged contest held on the day, but will purely be playing to showcase their talents to an audience of several hundred fans and industry professionals.
Text Voting for 2012 will commence in early August. Please do not text vote until your are informed by email that lines are open, as your vote will not count and you may be charged for your text.
Below are the details of last years voting. This is here purely for general information as to how it works. Terms will be updated prior to voting commencing for 2012.
