The talented rapper professes that he was mostly influenced by Old School Hip Hop whilst growing up listening to his uncles playing music from legends such as 2pac and Biggie. Kay-C credits Nas, Eminem and Jay-Z as being the main artists who initially inspired him to begin writing his own music from an early age. Most recently one Kay-C’s single ‘Love Me More’ from his ‘Gotta Make It EP’ was selected as the “BBC Introducing Track of The Week” and receiving national play from BBC 1xtra supported by DJ’s and presenters such as Trevor Nelson, DJ Target, MistaJam, DJ Sarah Jane Crawford, DJ Ace, Jasmin Evans and Adele Roberts etc. Kay-C was also one of the upcoming artists from Manchester nominated for the BBC Masterclass. Kay-C has always been involved in music even from an early age and as child he was a member of one of the choirs which performed in front of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd on her Golden Jubilee. In 2009 Kay-C was also selected to perform for the Prime Minister of England at the time, Gordon Brown at Lancaster House in London an experience which he described as “a truly unforgettable experience and unbelievable for a person who comes from where I come from”. Kay-C is also a final year student at Aston University in Birmingham, studying for a BSc in Human Psychology and is currently balancing his time between education and music. According to BBC 1xtra presenter MistaJam he believes due that due to Kay-C’s educational background and experience “he will never be short of things to write about as a songwriter”. One thing is for sure Kay-C’s style is both diverse and versatile, and as a result appeals to a wide audience. Be on the lookout for this young talent in the near future; it’s a name you may be hearing a lot more of.

  • Andrew
    Moore

On Sunday March 18th, A.J Moore will be releasing his debut album ‘Harmonics’ under FCL Recordings. A.J Moore is an artist of the highest caliber who has performed in some of the world’s most famous venues from The Royal Albert Hall in London to the People’s Theater in Shanghai. He has earned the respect from his music industry peers and the admiration of fan forums while performing as guitarist for number 1 selling classical artists Hayley Westenra, Laura Wright, Jonathan Ansell, Lee Mead and Faryl Smith. Now he is set to embark on his own artistic vision. Harmonics is a pop rock endeavour that is infused with musical elements from classical, modern jazz, soul and blues. Originally from Carlisle, England, A.J’s classical training and formal education at Leeds College of Music equip him with the tools to compose music beyond the standard chord progressions already exhausted by many of his top selling contemporaries. Harmonics is a product of A.J’s relentless work ethic and broad musical vocabulary. He has created an energetic and sophisticated sound both instrumentally and vocally. The lyrical content is no less captivating discussing a wide range of themes and emotions from failed relationships, work, the environment and bullying, to self-doubt and love. Written, performed, recorded and produced by A.J, Harmonics was completed in mid 2011. While most instrumental parts and vocals were performed by A.J, Harmonics benefited from the contributions of legendary acid jazz musician Jan Kincaid, drummer of 'The Brand New Heavies', and writer of songs like 'Never Stop' and 'Dream On Dreamer'. The strings were supplied by members of Classic FM favourites 'The Pavao Quartet', bass and piano moments by the respected session musician Al Gurr and a couple of electrifying solos by top jazz guitarist, Jamie McCredie. What is unarguably unique about Harmonics is that it is comprised of material that makes for a thrilling live concert experience. Coupled with the fact that the band consists of top session musicians, A.J Moore is evoking an audience response that is igniting a booking-frenzy amongst London promoters. A.J has performed in several international venues worldwide and like Bruce Springsteen, Prince and Dave Matthews Band, he knows intuitively how to work an audience, whatever the size. In the recording studio, he plays every note with depth and feeling, and delivers lyrics with a passion and intensity that draws you in. Add to these skills a playful wit that is truly British, A.J is poised to become a great musical export. Harmonics was mixed by A.J and Santi Arribas (The Mixing Factory) and was mastered at Metropolis Studios. The three songs deemed as fan favourites are ‘Moving On’, ‘Take It All Away’ and ‘Dreaming’. Moving On, which was briefly released for free download via the official unsigned UK music chart, held its top 10 position for 11 weeks with no promotion. Consequently, it is scheduled for a single release February 26th at a stellar charitable event in honour of the Scots Guards at one of London’s premier live haunts, ‘The Troubadour’. Further events and festival performances are being lined up for 2012. For current confirmed gig listings go to www.ajmooremusic.com. Take It All Away, a conservation awareness song, written in honour of Sir David Attenborough, will be raising money for charities personally recommended by him. Furthermore, A.J was invited by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to perform at the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Summit (COP15). Harmonics is only the beginning. A.J has already completed recording a second acoustic album titled ‘Stripped’ at the studio of Gang of Four founder and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers producer, Andy Gill. ‘Stripped’ is due for release later in 2012. Furthermore, with A.J’s constant output of new songs, a third band album is scheduled for recording later in the year. His live band are not only dear friends but like A.J, world class touring musicians who have played for Adele, Beyonce, Noel Gallagher, Brian Adams, LSO, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson’s Thriller Live, and Kid Creole to name a few. His material is known to many musicians to fill in when schedules don’t align. So, 2012 is already promising to be A.J’s best year to date. The material is ready, the drive to perform live is insatiable and his vast network of industry-recognised musicians is at the ready to thrill audiences worldwide. Fans can keep up to date with performances, interviews, sessions, TV appearances, and new releases by visiting A.J's website www.ajmooremusic.com and the social networking pages. Mailing list members will receive news, free download links and will be eligible to participate in fan competitions organised by FCL Recordings.

I Am Ryan are a five piece rock band formed of highly competent professional musicians from Evesham in Worcestershire. The group developed during 2010 as a result of Ryan Corbett’s solo project, which was also named I Am Ryan, in an attempt to develop and build on the original, emotionally driven, existing songs. The band has worked very hard behind the scenes writing and rehearsing songs as well as playing local gigs including bars, charity events and private functions. They have gained radio airplay from BBC Hereford and Worcester presenter Andrew Marston with tracks “Everything You Are”, “Stay”, “Hit Reset” and “Starting Over”. The Presenter also invited the band into the studio to perform a live, on air session for the BBC. This consisted of four tracks as well as the band being interviewed. Following this he placed their modern anthem “Hit Reset” among his top ten tracks of 2010, which also included major hits like Elle Goulding’s “Starry Eyed”. Following this success the band became confident that they had something special to offer that would be easily accepted by the mass market. In February 2011 the bands first single “Stay” was released independently, along with a video to support, of which former Kerrang DJ and Rawk Promoter of the Year Emma Scott became a fan of the band. Online purchases through Amazon and iTunes as well as attention through social media sites confirmed how easily their music was accepted. Local press actively supported, and still do support, any activity on the bands part. Late June 2011 the band began work on their debut twelve track album “Head First”. This was completed and went on release on 14th October 2011 along with their second single, the title track from the album. This gave the band a physical product to be able to promote what they can do. I Am Ryan consist of: Ryan Corbett - Lead vocals, acoustic guitar and keyboard Scott Wallace – Guitar Nigel Timperley – Guitar Rich Mead – Bass Guitar Mark Sefton – Drums
